Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Mockrew for the website and the Chrome extension — licence, plans, billing, acceptable use and liability.

Last updated: 2026-10-28

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Mockrew website and the Mockrew browser extension (together, the "Service"). By installing the extension, creating an account or purchasing a plan, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these Terms for it.

2. What the Service does

Mockrew is a developer tool. It intercepts HTTP requests made by web pages you open and returns responses you configure, or rewrites headers and redirects requests at the browser’s network request layer. It runs entirely in your browser; we do not proxy your traffic and we do not receive it.

You are responsible for what you configure. Mocking, rewriting or redirecting requests against systems you are not authorised to test may violate the law or a third party’s terms, and is not permitted under these Terms.

3. Licence

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the extension for your own development and testing work, including commercial work you perform for an employer or client.

You may not: resell, sublicense, rent or distribute the extension or access to a Pro plan; remove or obscure proprietary notices; reverse engineer the extension except where that restriction is prohibited by law; or use the Service to build a competing product by extracting its rules engine.

4. Plans and prices

The Free plan is available at no cost and includes the quotas shown on the pricing page and in the extension. Pro is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription, and (when available) a one-time lifetime purchase.

Prices are shown in US dollars. The total you pay — including any VAT, sales tax or other taxes that Creem is required to collect — is displayed at checkout before you confirm the order, together with the billing period and, for subscriptions, the date of the next renewal. That total is the price that applies to your purchase.

5. Payments, taxes and merchant of record

Payments are processed by Creem (https://www.creem.io), which acts as the merchant of record and authorised reseller for every purchase. This means Creem, not Mockrew, is the seller of the paid plan: it collects the payment, issues the invoice and receipt, calculates and remits applicable sales tax or VAT, and handles refunds and chargebacks.

When you check out, you also accept Creem’s Buyer Terms (https://www.creem.io/buyer-terms). If your receipt, invoice or payment method shows Creem, that is expected — it is the party that sold you the plan.

We never see or store your full card details. We receive only the information needed to grant your plan: an identifier for the transaction, the plan purchased and its status.

6. Free trial

Pro includes a 7-day free trial, available once per account and requiring no payment method. The trial grants the full Pro feature set for 7 days; when it ends the account returns to the Free plan automatically. Nothing is charged at the end, because we never ask for a card. We may change or end the trial offer at any time, but never retroactively for a trial already started.

7. Subscriptions, renewal and cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or yearly) at the price shown when you subscribed, until you cancel.
  • You can cancel at any time from the account page, from the customer portal linked in your payment receipt, or by writing to support@mockrew.com. Cancelling never requires a phone call. It takes effect at the end of the current period and stops all future charges.
  • For yearly plans we email a renewal reminder at least 14 days before each renewal, to the address on your account. Every subscription confirmation we send repeats how to cancel.
  • When a subscription ends, Pro features stop working at the next licence check and the extension returns to the Free plan. Your rules are not deleted.
  • We may change subscription prices. A change applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you do not agree, cancel before the renewal date.

8. Refunds

All payments are generally non-refundable, except where the law requires a refund or where we approve one for an exceptional circumstance — a duplicate charge, a billing error, an unauthorised charge, or a proven failure to access the paid plan that is our fault. An individual subscription that has not been used at all may also be refunded at our discretion.

SituationWhat we offer
Any paymentGenerally non-refundable — Pro is a digital product delivered immediately, and the free trial exists so you can evaluate it before paying
Required by applicable lawFull refund where the law requires one, including any statutory withdrawal right that applies to your purchase
Duplicate or incorrect chargeFull refund of the wrong amount, at any time
Unauthorised chargeFull refund once we or Creem confirm it was not authorised by the account holder — report it to us or to Creem, and you may also dispute it with your bank
Pro unavailable through our faultRefund of the affected period where a fault on our side kept the paid plan from working for a sustained period, you told us while it was happening, and we could not fix it
Subscription cancelled mid-periodNo refund — access continues until the end of the paid period
Unused individual subscriptionA discretionary refund, decided case by case — typically where the subscription has not been used at all and the request arrives soon after the charge

Payments, invoices and refunds are handled by Creem as merchant of record. Refunds are issued by Creem to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days depending on your bank. Creem may also issue a refund at its own discretion where the law, card-network rules or a payment dispute requires it. The same rules are set out on the Refund policy page.

Cancelling stops future renewals. It does not by itself entitle you to a refund of the current period, and cancelling after a charge does not reverse that charge.

A refund ends the plan that the refunded charge paid for. The rules and projects you created stay on your machine and keep working on the Free plan.

A free 7-day trial is available before you pay, so you can evaluate Pro without a card. To ask about a refund, write to support@mockrew.com with the email address used at checkout, the date of the charge and the transaction or invoice number — we reply within 3 business days, and may ask for evidence of the charge or the failure. The receipt Creem emails you also links to a customer portal where you can cancel, change your card or download invoices. Charges appear on your statement with CREEM.IO as the billing name. Please contact us, and then Creem, before opening a chargeback — a dispute takes weeks and is decided by your bank, not by either of us.

Nothing in this section limits a right you have under the consumer law of your country — section 18 explains how that interacts with these Terms.

Where we ended a plan for a serious breach under section 17, that purchase is not refundable.

9. Licence codes and connected browsers

Pro is granted per browser. You generate a single-use code on your account page and enter it in the extension; each connection occupies one of 3 browser slots. Codes are personal, expire 10 minutes after they are generated, and must not be shared or published. You can unbind a browser at any time from the account page.

Sharing codes, publishing them, or using one account across more browsers than the limit allows is a breach of these Terms. We may suspend the plan, and where the breach is serious we may end it without a refund.

10. Acceptable use

Mockrew is a developer tool. Use it only on systems you own or are authorised to test. You may not use it to:

  • bypass access controls, authentication, paywalls or licence checks of systems you do not own;
  • commit or facilitate fraud against any third-party service;
  • attack, overload or probe any system without written authorisation;
  • deceive other people by serving manipulated content as if it were the real service;
  • distribute malware, or capture and redistribute other people’s personal data, credentials, cookies or tokens;
  • circumvent our licensing — sharing connection codes, patching the extension to unlock Pro, or reselling access;
  • or violate applicable law, including export control and sanctions rules.

If we have reasonable evidence of misuse, we may suspend or terminate the account under section 17. To report abuse, write to support@mockrew.com.

11. Your content

You keep all rights to the rules, response bodies, scripts and other content you create in the extension ("Your Content"). It stays on your machine unless you explicitly export it or send it to us. We claim no licence over it, and we cannot read it.

The one exception is material you send us on purpose: if you email us a rule file, a log or a screenshot to get help, you allow us to use it only to reproduce your problem and answer you. We do not add it to any dataset or use it for anything else.

12. Our intellectual property

The extension, this website, the Mockrew name and logo, and the documentation are owned by us and are protected by copyright and trademark law. The extension is proprietary software: its source code is not published, and no licence to the source code is granted. The licence in section 3 covers use of the distributed build and nothing more.

13. Third-party services

  • Creem — payment processing, invoicing, tax and refunds. Creem’s own privacy policy governs the details you enter at its checkout.
  • GitHub / Google — optional sign-in. We receive your name, email address and avatar URL from the provider you choose.
  • Chrome Web Store — distribution and updates of the extension.
  • Cloudflare — hosting, database and network for this website and its API.

Those providers have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their services.

14. Availability and changes

The extension is designed to work offline and to keep working without an account. The website, the account area and licence validation depend on services we run, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability.

We may add, change or remove features at any time, but we will not materially reduce the limits of a plan you have already paid for during that paid period. If we discontinue a feature a paid plan relies on, we will announce it before it happens, and you may cancel before the next renewal.

15. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not warrant that a mock, rewrite or redirect will behave identically to the system it replaces, or that the Service will be free of defects.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights. If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have statutory rights as to the conformity of digital content and digital services — including a remedy if the Service is not as described — and these Terms do not exclude them.

16. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data or business interruption, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence; fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; wilful misconduct or gross negligence; breach of your statutory rights as a consumer; or any liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability under applicable data protection law.

17. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and cancel your subscription.

We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms — for example by sharing licence codes, attempting to bypass the plan limits, or using the Service for abuse. Except where the breach is serious (fraud, unlawful use, or deliberate circumvention of licensing) or where the law requires us to act immediately, we will tell you what is wrong and give you 7 days to put it right.

If we terminate a paid plan for a breach that is not serious, or if we discontinue a feature that plan relies on, we will refund the unused part of the period you paid for.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service, in the law, or in our practices. The date at the top of this page shows the current version. If a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or by a notice on this page before it takes effect, and you may cancel before then. Changes never apply retroactively. Continuing to use the Service after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.

19. Contact

Questions about these Terms: support@mockrew.com. We aim to reply within 3 business days.

20. Compatibility and technical requirements

  • The extension requires Chrome 116 or later, or a Chromium-based browser at an equivalent version. It does not run on Firefox or Safari.
  • It works offline and does not need an account. Pro requires periodic online licence validation; if our servers cannot be reached, Pro keeps working until the stored entitlement expires and then falls back to the Free plan.
  • Rules, projects and response bodies are stored in your browser. Chrome caps that storage at 10 MB per extension, so export anything you cannot afford to lose.
  • A Pro entitlement is tied to connected browsers rather than to a device or an operating system, and it can be moved by unbinding one browser and connecting another.

21. General

  • If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force and that provision is read as narrowly as possible.
  • These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and the documents they link to, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
  • You may not assign your rights under these Terms. We may assign ours if the Service or the business is transferred, provided your rights are not reduced.
  • Neither party is liable for delay caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
  • Sections 11, 12, 15, 16, 18 and 22 survive the end of your use of the Service.
  • If we do not enforce a provision, that is not a waiver of it.

22. Language

These Terms are concluded in English. If we publish a translation, it is provided for convenience only and the English version prevails in case of conflict.
